Today’s civilization depends largely upon the availability of energy and development. Sustainable Development is one of the important inputs required for the social, economic and industrial development. The forthcoming national conference “Emerging Environmental Challenges and Sustainable Development” is an effort in the direction of providing a forum for the exchange of the challenges and technological developments in the energy and environment sector across the Nation. The main objective of the conference is to improve and disseminate knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for the purpose of increased sustainable development by decoupling growth from natural resources and replacing them with knowledge based economy, taking into account its economic, environmental and social pillars, as well as methods for assessing and measuring sustainability of development, regarding energy, transport, water, environment and food production systems and their many combinations.
